Handbags, laptop bags, overnight bags, travel – in fact any kind of bags – all individual and very special and original created by Wren, a Cape Town, South Africa designer.
I saw these amazing Wren bags on a post by Cape Town blogging supremo Chris Mills. who features a neat little interview with Wendren, the Cape Town designer behind The Wren on his iMod blog.
According to Wren Design’s blog, An important aspect of Wren is that everything is done with sustainability in mind and with nature as the inspiration. For example, the Coffee Bags are all made from the sacks that carry coffee beans around the world.
Bag is a Reflection of Who You Are
Wendren Milford ( the real name of Wren) believes that a bag is a reflection of who you are and thus, each one is unique by it’s combination of fabrics and in the case of the coffee bags, well each fair trade coffee sack is unique by it’s number, print and design. Originality of these bags does not need to be made, it’s just there.
Cape Town Designer
The About Me on her blog explains: “I’m a surface designer by paper (aka textile designer or graphic artist) from Cape Town, South Africa. All kinds of design interest me which is why I have drifted over into fashion design, graphic design, a bit of industrial design and … well, they are all interesting and I love a challenge.”
